Last time we discussed the Spiritual Temperament of HEART. This week we dive into the MIND.
People whose Spiritual Temperament aligns with the Mind are Contemplatives and Intellectuals. These are the ones who love God through Adoration, being PRESENT in His PRESENCE.
Contemplatives love language and history. It is not enough to simply read a passage of scripture, but to learn the historical context, geography, original intent of the ancient language and so much more. Connection with God happens for a Contemplative when their minds are stimulated with deep wonder and philosophy.
Intellectuals have a deep need for understanding God and His nature. It is not enough to learn about the 12 Disciples but instead will spend time in studying each of them individually. Book studies that examine the consistency and character of God throughout all of the Old and New Testament are much more appealing than a topical Bible study.
Persons with a Spiritual Temperament of The Mind love revelation and wisdom as their connectedness to God through the Holy Spirit is more knowledge led over feeling led.
The heart of the discerning acquires knowledge, for the ears of the wise seek it out.
Prov. 18:15
Activities that draw MIND people closer to The Lord include:
Reading and comparing different versions of the Bible for comparison.
Researching historical accuracy
Studying with a Strong’s Concordance
Participating in deep philosophical conversations with other believers.
But God has revealed them to us through His Spirit. For the Spirit searches all things, yes, the deep things of God. . . Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, that we might know the things that have been freely given to us by God.
1 Corinthians 2:10, 12
If this is your temperament, I encourage you to practice some of the activities listed above. Next week we will dive into the third temperament: SOUL.
Praying for you to DISCOVER, DEEPEN and DREAM
